Our Story

Driven by Heart, Rooted in Community.

It Started with a Simple Idea...

Founded in 2019 amidst the challenges of the global pandemic, our organization was born from a direct response to the vulnerability of street-connected children in Arusha. During the initial lockdowns, we successfully transitioned 20 children from the urban streets to a supportive environment in Karatu, marking the beginning of our dedicated advocacy. This pivotal move laid the foundation for our ongoing operations. Today, we remain steadfast in our growth and our commitment to child welfare, working tirelessly to ensure that our outreach expands. Our core philosophy remains unchanged: we operate under the conviction that no child should be left behind, and we continue to strive toward a future where the streets are no longer a home for any child.

Salama Home was born from the realization that "safety" isn't just a roof—it's the peace of mind that comes from having a healthy family, an educated child, and a sustainable environment.

"We didn't want to just build walls; we wanted to build foundations for life."
